Originally conceived to host 360 stickers as a printed synthesis of its cinematic counterpart, Giller reinterprets its configuration offering a new narrative proposition.
In Productions, none of the characters are suitably introduced, confrontations take place without explanation and the resolution is left unresolved. What remains is a broken-up storyboard, a slimmed-down tale told through drawings, the characters becoming innocuous, with their voices from the original film and their emotional journeys entirely absent. It becomes as much about the processes of production as it is about the story, Giller exposes the limits of how entertainment is made, when all is reduced to its core.
1982년 신데렐라 스티커 앨범의 구조는 레너드 길러의 <프로덕션>의 기반이 되었는데 대중 매체, 기억, 빈 프레임, 채워지는 시간 사이의 긴장감을 탐구하 있다. 원래는 360개의 스티커를 영화와 합성한 인쇄물로 구상된 이 앨범을 길러는 그 구성을 재해석하여 새로운 내러티브를 제시한다. 이 책은 등장인물을 제대로 소개되지 않고, 설명 없이 대결이 벌어지면서 해결되지 않은 채로 남겨놓는다. 스토리보드가 쪼개지고, 그림으로 축소된 이야기가 전달되며, 캐릭터는 원작의 목소리와 감정의 여정이 완전히 사라진 채 무의미해진다. 스토리만큼이나 제작 과정도 중요해지면서, 저자는 모든 것이 핵심으로 축소된 엔터테인먼트 제작 방식의 한계를 드러낸다.
